Our middle school teachers are passionate about science and engineering. During the summer they participate in face-to-face, highly interactive professional development seminars where they review the curricula, study science-centric pedagogy techniques that facilitate the inquiry-based learning process and share ideas and success stories. They then orchestrate the classroom implementation and deliver rigorous instruction based on curriculum that they co-construct with the Interactive Learning and Design Lab.
Our teachers are highly valued and critical to the design-based research process, working with us year after year. Their constant formative and summative feedback allow for each iteration of the curricula to better benefit their students.
